Hello World
Sable Hearts » Devlog
Hello.
I'm Mackerel Sky. You can call me Mack. By day, I'm a fish relationship manager at a small seaside port town. But when I've had the time, I've been slowly teaching myself programming, animation and game design, more or less from scratch.
Sable Heart is my first project. I think it's in a state where I'm ready to get some input from people as to how it plays.
Current Content
Here's a list of the current content you can experience:
- About half of the Kopr Forest region
- 3 unique guns
- 7 side quests
- 3 books
- 2 treasure chests
- 3 unlockable note entries
Immediate Plans
My first priority is checking everything is stable and runs smoothly on a variety of hardware, so the first couple of patches after this I expect to be:
- Bug fixing
- Gameplay tweaks based on any feedback
- Fleshing out the rest of the Kopr Forest region
- Other easy wins
Long Term Goals
- Development of AI pathfinding for Kat, your buddy
- Refactor of text to use TMP
- Refactor of UI code
- Expansion of the game map, with more guns, enemies and quests
- Implementation of the story
- Untangling my garbage spaghetti code

Nice game in concept, jsut could use some more checkpoints/savepoints
Sucks to lose lots of progress :-/
Hey, thanks for checking it out! There are 2 real save points in the demo, one in the forest and one in the town (the camera things). I didn't specifically call them out, but I hope they were obvious if you passed by them. Did you find using them intuitive? I'll try adding an additional save point in the valley and also have a NPC give you a bit of a tutorial in the next patch.
I know about them, just a bit too spaced out for me :-(
As said, game simply could use 1 or 2 more savepoints :-)
