Sable Hearts v0.04a


This release adds a new level - the Gash! You can get to it through Twin Peak Valley. 


The Gash combines narrow, twisting corridors with a few wide open expanses caused by rockfalls and cave-ins, exposing the subterranean networks of the Kopr Mountain Range to the sun.  Due to the length of the level, you'll find a pulley system set up at the end which will take you quickly back to the start.  Eventually, you'll need to repair the pulley to get it working again. You also won't be able to access the full area due to story or side quest content locking it out.

Getting everything set up in this level took the majority of my time, as there were a few custom art assets I needed to make, plus get the giant tree in the middle of the level to move with the wind. I also refactored the moving platform code to set up horizontal movement for the pulley system.

Unfortunately, this meant I didn't have enough time to work on boss or story content, but they'll be my main focus in the next update. I did, however, squeeze in a new enemy a few days ago: the Laserlope.


Basically it wanders around like a normal enemy, until it detects you. Then it'll sweep a laser beam to try and hurt you.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed the Saleno Bookstore quest failing to remove books from your story inventory upon completing quest
  • Fixed Slime Boss's house's books failing to give you an item  upon picking it up

I'm also aware of a bug regarding Poff's animations not working properly after you shoot it. I haven't found a solution yet, but I'll keep working on it.
